By night, she and her band Thousand Days, which recently won an honorable mention in Billboard’s World Song Competition, play in clubs around Boston. When asked if she would ever give up her science for the chance to become a rock star, Sabeti answers with certainty that she would not. She says of her profession: “It’s who I am, and it’s what I’m good at. There are so many aspects to science that I couldn’t give up—the rigor, the discoveries, the teaching.” Is there any part of your own life that you are this passionate about? Or would you give up your day job or hobbies for a more “glamorous” lifestyle?
