| In frozen Greenland the world's fastest-moving glacier, Jakobshavn, dumps more water into the ocean in a day than New York City uses in two weeks — an alarming rate double that of its output merely a decade ago. Scientists exploring the complex dynamics of Arctic glaciers are finding that global warming is causing them to shrink much faster than ever expected, dumping massive amounts of ice and water into the ocean. Do you think this is something we should be concerned about? If so, why? If not, why not? |
