Archeologist Julie Schablitsky has made it the focus of her career to bring truth to the tall tales of the Old West. Last year, she and her University of Oregon colleagues presented evidence that some members of the infamous Donner Party did not resort to cannibalism during their ill-fated trek to California as was previously thought. Do you think you would resort to cannibalism if the only alternative were to starve to death? In such a circumstance, do you think it is morally acceptable to do so?
