Just a century ago, particle physicists embarked on a journey of discovery that would answer countless questions about the universe and world around us, making way for new technologies--such as computers, televisions, and medical imaging devices--that have changed the way we live our lives. Now, with the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) nearing completion, scientists will be able to probe deeper into matter than ever before. But no one knows for sure what they will find, if anything at all. Do you think the LHC is worth the $8 billion price tag? If so, why? If not, why not?
